2014-2019 Strategic Plan

The first statewide strategic plan, the Queensland Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Strategic Plan 2014-2019 was published in October 2014, providing the foundation for ongoing reform across a wide range of sectors.

About the plan

The 2014-2019 Strategic Plan sought to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders, including those with mental illness, problematic alcohol and other drugs use and those affected by suicide. The plan was supported by a strategic plan summary.

Under the 2014-2019 Strategic Plan, eight shared commitments to action addressed the immediate priorities and sought to strengthen partnerships and capacity for collective action over the life of the plan.

Action plans

The 2014-2019 Strategic Plan resulted in five action plans that address priorities outlined under the shared commitments to action. They were: 

Reporting and reviewing the plan

We measured the progress of the Strategic Plan towards achieving its vision and outcomes, and monitored implementation of commitments under each action plan.

Annual performance indicator reports were published to track statistical indicators that influence the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders, including those with mental illness and problematic alcohol and other drugs use.
