Our performance

The Queensland Mental Health Commission and the Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council were set up under the Queensland Mental Health Act 2013.

Under the Act, the Commission’s job is to drive ongoing reform towards a more integrated, evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health and substance misuse system.

The Act also requires an independent review of the Commission’s performance before 30 June 2016, as well as a review of the Act itself after 30 June 2016.

Our performance is measured by:

  • The extent to which commitments in the whole-of-government Strategic Plan are implemented
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with the support and achievements of the Commission.

Our focus is on better outcomes for people with mental health and drug and alcohol problems.  We track our progress through an annual survey that directly links those matters over which we have direct control to matters we can influence directly and indirectly.  Our credibility is key to our capacity to influence.
