On 30 October 2014, Commissioner Dr Lesley van Schoubroeck joined a forum on the Sunshine Coast to share knowledge about maximising the social and economic participation of those with mental ill-health.
The forum brought together policy makers, researchers and service providers from around the country to discuss the challenges and opportunities for meaningful participation in the economy and community networks.
The Commissioner said the Commission supported the goal of the National Expert Reference Group and the National Drug Strategy 2010-2015 of improving employment rates of adults over 18 with mental illness and their carers.
