QMHC Effectiveness review

Response to review

Our response to the QMHC effectiveness review

About the review

In 2016, the Queensland Public Service Commission undertook an independent review into the effectiveness of the Queensland Mental Health Commission.

The independent review was a requirement of the Queensland Mental Health Commission Act 2013:

The Minister must arrange an independent review of the performance by the Commission of its functions within 3 years (i.e. by 30 June 2016).

In November 2016, the Minister for Health Cameron Dick MP provided a copy of the report to the Mental Health Commissioner. The report included 13 recommendations.

The report is available on the Queensland Health website.

Our response

We responded to each of the independent review’s 13 recommendations.

Next steps

A review of the Queensland Mental Health Commission Act 2013 will now be undertaken.

More information about the process and Terms of Reference will be available soon.
