CheckUP Mental Health Skills Training

11 Oct 2014

CheckUP logo   The Commissioner attended CheckUP’s Mental Health Skills Training program for general practitioners on 11 October 2014. GPs are one of the key avenues people choose to get help for mental issues, and it was pleasing to see GPs increase their existing knowledge and skills in assessing, planning and reviewing care programs for patients experiencing mental health issues.

The Commission anticipates on-going discussion with GPs in relation to systemic changes that can be made, particularly in relation to the implementation of Shared Commitments 2 and 6 of the Queensland Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Strategic Plan 2014-2019.
