'Our story, our future' is the Queensland Multicultural Policy, promoting an inclusive, harmonious and united community for Queensland.
The policy focuses Queensland Government action on three priorities for culturally diverse communities and Queensland as a whole:
- achieving culturally responsive government
- supporting inclusive, harmonious and united communities
- improving economic opportunities.
The policy is being implemented through Multicultural Action Plans. Every year, Queensland Government agencies report publicly on progress towards actions under the plan.
The first Queensland Multicultural Action Plan spanned 2016–17 to 2018–19, with the First Progress Report on the Queensland Multicultural Policy tabled in Parliament in August 2019.
The second Queensland Multicultural Action Plan 2019–20 to 2021–22 built on outcomes achieved under the first action plan.

The third Queensland Multicultural Action Plan spans 2022–23 to 2023–24 and continues the work under the first and second plans. It focuses on six actions to build the econonmy and community, provide better access to interpreters, and improve cultural diversity data to enhance service delivery.
